This game is KABOOM in difficulty, which is kind of fun, but most times I rage and my friends laugh, but I like kaboom! Possibly add a difficulty scale?

Yeah I think it goes up to KABOOM pretty quick and I think could make the transition from POW to BOOOOOOM a littler better and gentler.
Mediocre game from my POV, the difficulty is so high that you never get to see yourself with more than one buff or item at a time, and the games too short to ever become skilled at it. The walljump controls made the final level a pain to play, I was hoping for more. I quit after losing to the final boss, due to how much of a chore reaching him is.
Make the walljump less clingy, make the character move way faster, and lower the difficulty a ton.

great game, I only managed to get as far as the third stage, but out of interest, does the altar in stage 1 do anything? just curious

This is a super fun game, with chill music, and great game play, really well done.
I like this a lot! The movement is great and it really forces me to make observations about the enemies, the art is amazing as well!

The movement in this game feels so clean! Definitely ended this game a month project on an extremely strong note. I am looking forward to you working on it here and there over the year, with my #1 wish would probably be controller support at some point. Cheers!

Kinda hoping rocket jumping would be possible but the variety of movement options there is makes up for it.
Level 3 onwards keeps kicking my butt though.

Recoil from firing a rocket will push you up if you shoot down while jumping... but it's not traditional rocket jumping.

The loss of your upgrades feels a bit punishing, and tends to make the hunting of chests more trouble than it's worth. I wonder whether refreshing health between floors, or having death lose one of your items could make the trade-offs a bit juicier.
I will of course lose everything when I attempt to ascend the final(?) stage of the tower to spikes and u-bends and infernal icicles but I guess that's to be expected ;)
Thanks for the notes! Yeah I think there's a lot I can do to make chests more rewarding.
My reasoning for the total item drop was to push people towards the "Restart from level 1" option. Restarting the floor you're on actually puts you at a bit of a disadvantage but it's great for practicing for the full roguelike-run experience. I guess the trick is to figure out how not frustrate folks along the way.
